Constant Opportunities, Coping With Change

To understand change and the amount of change that will be ahead, we have to understand the impact of the change that has occurred in the last 100 years with the Industrial Age. If the new Age, the Information Age, is coming upon us quickly we must act quickly and embrace change to prosper from the opportunities.

Yes some of the opportunities have already arrived and some are past, but there are a great many more coming. While change is constant, and change brings opportunity, then opportunity is also constant. To prosper an opportunity is required, so fortunate we are that opportunity is upon us constantly.

Please leave your comments about your thoughts and opportunities that the Industrial Age has brought us. If you can, try to put a year or date when that opportunity was discovered by yourself or people in general. We will see that the opportunities arrive frequently and often. This indicates we should always be hopeful and searching out our own prosperous opportunity that will make your dreams come true! Where ever you are in the world, it is possible!

Realize that some opportunities are a result of previous opportunities and could not have happened unless a previous opportunity occurred.

Here is a list of examples to help get this idea started:
1. Stone Age, not seeing a lot of benefit, but perhaps the hammer. We can finally mold rocks and build something?

2. Agricultural Age (ie: Farming), this freed people so everyone would not have to grow their own food. Some farmers were displaced so they could pursue other opportunities. Were they displaced or did they recognize coming opportunity?

3. Iron Age, well, likely Steel Manufacturing (1800s, I don't remember it well). Which created the possibility for Railroads, Automobiles and other advancements in transportation.

4. Airplanes.

5. Rock N Roll, finally some good music so entertainment could be more enjoyable.

The list of opportunities is endless and will always be endless. The constant is change and the by product is displacement. With each opportunity we see more possibility and efficiency as well as a better lifestyle. It is human nature to progress not digress, so change that is accepted usually brings a better way of life. Be hopeful, share your thoughts and comments and help others cope with change.

How To Prosper By Embracing Change.

When a significant change occurs in history, there are always great events that occur that mark that time so it will be a reference point in the future. Just like hind sight is 20/20 or clear as a bell, so will it be when the shift has transpired.

Many people cope with change differently from all extremes. Many resist, and resist to the extreme. Some embrace and are eager to learn about the changes, but majority of people get shifted or displaced into the change with the average pace. This average pace will not yield any great opportunity or prosperity. Those that resist will definitely not prosper. If you are or have been looking for the greatest opportunities in your life, they are coming. Change always brings new and greater opportunities.

To learn about the new Age coming, most likely will be known as the Information Age or Technology Age, we must look back and examine the previous Ages and try to imagine the changes that occurred and how they may have impacted society. From this, we can learn how new opportunities may unfold so we can be there before they do and benefit. To benefit from a new opportunity you must learn about the change before as many people as possible, for once the change has happened, little to no opportunity exists until that change evolves or something else changes.

If you are reading this, you are probably curious about opportunities. Perhaps you are looking for a future opportunity and stumbled upon this article. Please share opportunities you have seen or participated in that has provided you some benefit. In order to see future opportunities, you have to know a pattern of prior opportunities, just like anything else, a pattern of activity that may provide some insight or predictability so you can take that chance or risk and prosper.

A Great Change, End Of Industrial Age

What is causing the economy to appear to be collapsing? Whenever change is great and rapid, it feels very disruptive and the conclusion most take is that something is coming to an end.

Well, they are right. There is something coming to and end, but sorry, it is not the world. This is NOT the End Times or the 2nd Coming, although many of us would like it to be. I know I am curious, but most likely this is not it. What is happening though is there is a great amount of change occurring. The end of something great and historical is happening but we may not know what it is until after. So we must embrace the changes so we can look back one day and it will be as clear as a bell. As you know, hind sight IS 20/20.

So what is coming to and end? It is the Industrial Age. Yes this big bold prediction is nothing more than the obvious. How will it affect you? In all honesty, using history to predict how this change may occur will be very difficult, but our only aid in coping with it, even though it will be a greater impact than probably all the historical changes in our civilization combined.

We are entering into a new age, most likely the Information Age, but it may be named something else once it is in full effect. A change like this is not simple and will affect millions of people, but realize that when a change like this occurs there is great opportunity and new prosperity that occurs. There are many people that will see this, find the opportunity within it and become extremely wealthy as a result.

Fortunately and maybe both unfortunately not many if any of us at all have lived through a change of Ages. A great change significant to the human civilization is always marked by significant and historical events in time. These events are remembered for generations and since a change this great has not occurred for about 100 years many of us will not know or be able to express the impact in terms of our current understanding of life. Some of us imagine it, but few of us will understand it.

To illustrate a major change we can look back at events such as Independence Day, World War I and World War II, The Great Depression and the Civil War. It is important to understand that these major historical events all resulted in major changes, but not as great as the coming change. For several generations our way of life has been shaped and our understanding of all human kind is conditioned and the presumption that human history has always been how we live today. This is because of the Age we have lived up to now during the Industrial Age.

We are all witnessing the greatest change in history as we conclude the Industrial Age and it becomes a piece of history for North America and other parts of the world. As certain parts of the world lead this change and the rest will surely follow, we will experience a great disruption in our daily lives as we begin to cope and experience all the changes and opportunities this change will offer.

Embrace the changes, embrace technology, grow fast and prosper. If you are reading this right now, you must have been impacted by some recent changes. Please share your comments about the changes you are experiencing so we can read about what others are going through.

What Changed Recently That Affected You The Most?

What changed recently that affected you the most? Did you get laid off from work? Did the company you work for reduce its work force or close completely?

How did you cope with this change? Was it difficult? Coping with change, especially if it involves your family income is very difficult. Losing income or reducing your family income cause a great amount of change and dealing with the adjustment can cause a lot of stress and frustration, especially if bills are not getting paid.

This is and will be a major problem in the world over the next few years. The reason is very simple. There is a lot of change and displacement occurring in our society now and will not slow or stop any time soon. The reason it will not stop any time soon is because it will be a very big change and will require a great amount of smaller changes that affect just about everyone.

Thankfully and probably not so fortunate is that nothing changes over night. If we had the ability to learn and adopt change over night, many problems we face could be solved quickly and with much less pain. However, accepting and embracing change or learning how to adopt and embrace change quickly will surely reduce the pain.

It would be great if you read this, and you probably did because you are searching for answers to why something has changed recently in your life and you are trying to cope with it. Coping with change or anything is always eased and comforted by hearing others going through similar situations. No one likes to feel alone during change and hearing others go through it helps significantly. Please leave a comment describing the change you are experiencing so we can all learn what some of the most common changes our out there right now.

Accepting Change or Displacement

Do you know someone that has been laid off recently? There are many reasons why businesses recede their growth or fail completely. However, typically the reason why is a simple reason, but we may not easily see the problem or solution.

The lowest common denominator is called change. A change occurs in our local or global economy and the change causes displacement. The change could be simple or complicated or a ripple or domino effect, however it is a change.

Most often a new way of performing a similar task has been discovered and as this new method is accepted the ripple effect begins. Sometimes slowly and sometimes quickly depending on the factors that affect that particular change.

As the world begins to adopt technology in the everyday tasks we begin to evaluate those tasks. Sometimes those tasks can be improved and when that happens someone or something is displaced. Displaced is a term that classifies change. It can mean something has physically moved or a task has been modified from its current state.

Being displaced is becoming more and more common. Have you ever re-arranged furniture in your home so it flows better with your life's activities? A couch, a lamp, the TV or anything else? Maybe you removed the doors because it is annoying or in-efficient to open and close the door each time you enter or leave a room or the house.

Have you ever thought of relocating to reduce the commute time of going to and from your place of employment? These are examples of displacement. Displacement usually has an impact of at least 1 person. When the displacement begins to impact more than yourself, you will encounter some resistance. In a larger scale, displacement affects people's lives and the adjustment to the displacement can be difficult. The faster we can adjust to the displacement the quicker we can cope with change.

No one likes change, but change is a way of life. Coping with the by products of change or displacement requires energy and as a result most people hate it. As technology continues to advance it becomes easier and easier to displace how work is completed. Embracing technology and realizing that once the change is completed your life will become easier and more comfortable will help you accept change much faster.

Becoming More Efficient

Have you ever noticed that we normally repeat tasks or activities in a pattern. When we need to do something our brain immediately records the pattern of activity. Each time this pattern of activity is repeated the brain attempts to layout the pattern as it was the previous times so we can follow the preset pattern.

Our brain is like a smart computer with a finite amount of memory and space. By following and repeating patterns of activities we can consume less memory and brain space or head space as some commonly refer.

Change cause us to write or re-write the patterns of life's activities. This re-write of activities requires energy and is not efficient. As we age, we begin to realize this and begin to evaluate our decisions and actions. Sometimes this is referred to as maturity, conservative or just being called old. The intelligence is that if a change is thought out in advance enough it can be easily concluded if the change is worth adjusting to.

Have you ever looked at a pattern of activity and realized immediately that the new way of performing that activity is much faster and more efficient. What happens? We immediately incorporate that new pattern into our brain if we can. Sometimes there are road blocks that prevent the possibility. For example, is writing a letter faster by email or paper, pen, envelope, stamp and postal service? Sometimes the recipient may not have the means to receive an email (I know hard to believe, but possible).

As humans we are ingrained to be as efficient as possible and to constantly search out more efficient methods of being. This is the evolution of society, a direct result of our brain efficiency needs.

Please develop the pattern of activity to leave comments in blog articles. This allows the writers to become more efficient. For example, if you hate what someone is writing, tell them because it is that information that can let them become more efficient and stop writing articles.

We All Hate Change

If you are following this series, it must be that you are dealing with change, or coping with changes you are witnessing in the North American Economy or other parts of the world experiencing similar changes.

I tried to summarize everything in one blog article about the Change we see in society today. I concluded that it is impossible to do that unless the thoughts are elaborated into categories so that they are easier to understand. Here is a link to my compressed article Doom And Gloom, Not Really, Just Change

Change is a constant. No one likes to change even if they admit that they do. Change requires effort and energy. It is normal for human beings to resist change. A biological reason is that the brain is designed to conserve energy and change requires the brain to consume energy to adjust to change. While it can change, it tries to do so rapidly but then once change has occurred we immediately try to control that change and make it as efficient as possible. Once you realize this is how the human body works, you can better understand the pain associated with change.

Realize that after change has occurred and you immediately begin the efficiency process that you will soon be back to the same comfort level as you were prior to the change, but hopefully better off than prior to. Normally we do, but occasionally we slip back to our "old ways" because we realized that the change that occurred did not provide the benefit previously anticipated.

As we age, making changes becomes difficult and we resist more and more. This is the large majority of humans, but there is always exceptions to every theory.

Doom And Gloom, Not Really, Just Change.

As I crammed my brain full of information the last few days it has generated some conclusions. Whenever this happens I always like to bounce the ideas off others to test my revelations as a sanity check. In order to keep this blog entry a bite size, I will be writing a small series. Please comment or share them with others so I can know if there is a general interest for me to keep writing.

Sometimes when we are looking for explanations as to why things are happening in our lives or in the world, the most simple answers are right in front of us and we usually do not see them.

I used to think that all the developed countries in the world moved forward synchronized in development. I was naive in thinking this because I made the awful assumption that if I was keeping up to change then so should everyone else in my surroundings and in the world, but I now know that this is completely false. The natural tendency for humans is to resist change because change requires effort. The large majority would rather not expend energy in thinking and so a dull life they shall live. The very fact that you are reading this is because you are probably searching for other people that share your thoughts or curiosity as to what is happening in the world today. While there are many others in the same category, I am quite sure there are others drawing similar conclusions and perhaps can explain this much better than I can.

When I travel I had these presumptions about North America as being more advanced that any other country. When I saw bits and pieces in other parts of the world that confused the hell out of me. I couldn't understand why cell phones were so widely used in some places but their internet service sucked. These advancements should go hand in hand.

I concluded that more and more North America and possibly the world is beginning a more rapid change. I also used to think that countries or continents would change separately, they are now intertwined in a way I do not understand. What I do know for sure is that the industrial age is coming to a rapid end here in North America.

The change is happening quite rapidly and more than people can probably handle or understand. While largely fueled by technology, I'm not sure which age we are entering, either it is the Technological Age or the Information Age and if the information age, then every change is then fueled by technology.

The large unemployment we are witnessing is the by-product of change, but also the actual illustration of growth in the economy. After any amount of displacement comes new growth and opportunities. If we can realize the change is upon us then definitely gives us a chance to prosper.

Like most of us, we have only lived through part of Industrial Age. There is no cut and dry indicator when parts of the world changes from one age to another. I am guessing the likes of the Great Depression. Only because normally a large event has always marked great change in history and I believe the end of the Industrial Age is being marked by 2 things. 1, is 9/11 and 2 is the dismantling of corporate America as we know it now.

If you think this content bears any truth, please post a comment so I can evaluate your thoughts as to how I may improve my writing to help others understand and cope with the change. Or, if I am totally out to lunch and I should have a sanity check I am after all open minded and willing to accept change.
